The Second Vatican Council described the family as "the foundation of society", and therefore the weakening of families will affect everyone in society (Gaudium et Spes, #52).
Families are the building blocks of society. Each family built on principles and faith adds to a healthy society.
Every individual's personality and character are, to a great extent, shaped by families.
