[1 of 10] In response to Cardinal Varkey Vithayathil’s call that the Syro-Malabar Church celebrate the year 2006-07 as the Year of the Family, the St Thomas Forane Church, Bangalore has been organizing special programmes for various sections of the laity since May 2006. The programme of October 2006 was named Nightingales Day and dedicated to doctors, nurses, medical professionals, and nursing and medical students. This programme was held on Sunday, October 29, 2006, and included adoration, renewal of oath, offerings, blessing, and praise and worship.
