Basic Information

The Syro-Malabar church comprises 26 dioceses and nearly 4 million members. Thirteen of these dioceses are in Kerala, of which five dioceses have archdiocesan status. Twelve other dioceses are located in other states of India. One diocese is in Chicago, USA.

The Pope

Major Archbishop Cardinal Varkey Vithayathil is the head of the Syro-Malabar Church.
